Bench-Top Oscillating Spindle Sander Kit Has Everything Needed To Hug Any Curve, Shape, Or Turn With
6/20/2002

JUNE 20, 2002 – NEW YORK, NY – Delta Machinery just made oscillating spindle sanders more affordable for woodworkers today by launching an oscillating spindle sander kit – the model SA350K – during a press conference at the Hotel InterContinental in New York City. Product Manager Angie Shelton said, “Delta’s new bench-top oscillating spindle sander kit offers everything needed to tackle any convex or concave scrollwork conceivable. The best part of our new introduction is the price … woodworkers can buy the entire kit of accessories along with the tool for a savings of more than $32 rather than buying them separately and paying more.”

The model SA350K features a ¼ horsepower (1,725 rpm) single-phase motor. As the sanding drum spins, it also oscillates, or moves up and down, 7/8" to provide a uniform finish and prevent loading of the sandpaper. This oscillation works in tandem with the drum’s spinning motion at 60 strokes per minute (spm) to offer rapid stock removal down to hairline tolerances. Thanks to its large 18² sanding table, Delta Machinery’s oscillating spindle sander kit offers added support for large workpieces.

The SA350K offers the following as part of the value kit: rubber spindles (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters), drum plates (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters), abrasive sleeves (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters), and table inserts (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters).

Delta Machinery also offers five standard paper diameter sizes for the model SA350K. They are 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/2", and 2" (available in grits ranging from 80 to 220). Along with paper, there is a complete line of sanding drums to match corresponding paper diameters.

Designed for applications including the home workshop, custom woodworking, cabinetry, custom staircase work, and custom furniture, Delta’s bench-top oscillating spindle offers an open sanding area for optimum line-of-sight visibility to the work surface. Its built-in dust collection fan draws in dust and chips through a specially-designed table insert and deposits debris in the standard equipment dust bag. An integral dust spout is provided for attaching a shop vacuum or dust collector. The unit’s pre-drilled holes allow the user to mount the sander to a stand or workbench for added stability.

The model SA350K comes complete with the basic unit, rubber spindles (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters), drum plates (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters), abrasive sleeves (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters), table inserts (1², 1-1/2², 2²and 3² diameters); dust bag, Allen wrench, socket wrench and instruction manual. Currently available on the market, the model SA350K is expected to sell for approximately $179.
