New Air Compressors Provide Commercial Users with Increased Mobility
JACKSON, Tenn., June 2, 2003 – Commercial job site air compressors today reached new standards in performance, protection and portability with the introduction of six new Porter-Cable air compressors. The new line of Porter-Cable air compressors provides professional users a full range of sizes, power capabilities, pump designs and portability options to meet their demanding needs. The latest Porter-Cable air compressor offering consists of four JOB BOSSTM models, C3150, C3151, C3550 and C3551, and two mobile pancake models, C2150 and C2550.
“This new line of Porter Cable contractor air compressors makes using brad nailers, staplers, roofing nailers and other pneumatic tools on job sites much easier and efficient across large work areas,” said James Vintzel, Porter-Cable air compressor product manager. “In addition to the industries best in class performance pumps, compact and rugged tubular frames, this line also has built-in mobility kits or the option to add one.”
The C3150 and C3151 JOB BOSSTM air compressors have 4.5 gallon tanks and a patented oil-free pump design that provides high durability and low maintenance. The powerful two pole, 3450 rpm induction motor, provides 6.0 SCFM@90 psi air delivery and can reach 150 psi maximum pressure. In addition, the units utilize a High-floSM air regulators to ensure maximum work at high pressure, universal High-floSM push-to-connect couplers to provide safe and quick connections, and two-port removable console to allow remote air regulation, access to couplers and limit pressure drop. The rugged, full roll-cage frame protects the motor, pump and controls from everyday work hazards.
The C3550 and C3551 JOB BOSSTM air compressors have similar design and comparable features to the C3150 and C3151, but feature a patented direct drive oil lubricating system with 8 ounce crankcase that operates on uneven surfaces to assure continued lubrication even under non-optimal conditions and the heavy-duty cast iron construction provides maximum pump life. Additional benefits unique to the direct drive oil lube pumps include a 12 amp draw that will not trip electrical circuits on the job site, heavy duty ball bearings and robust connection rod for maximum strength in key wear areas, and 40 percent reduced operation noise than competing units.
Model C3151 and model C3551 incorporates a mobility kit that includes large pneumatic wheels, and a cushioned and retractable handle for the ultimate in job site portability. Model C3150 and model C3550 can be upgraded with a model PTA50 mobility kit.
The C2150 and C2550 “pancake” style air compressors have 4 gallon tanks and mobility kits equipped with rugged tubular frames that provide protection for the pump and motor. The two pick up points, wheels and a cushioned handle provide users maximum mobility. The units also utilize High-floSM air regulators, and a High-floSM push-to-connect couplers. Model C2150 has a patented oil free pump design that provides durability and low maintenance, and a four pole, 1725 rpm induction motor that provides long term use and quiet operation. The model C2550 has all the unique features of the JOB BOSSTM direct drive oil lube pumps.
“Increased portability of contractor air compressors on the job site is a user request that we took seriously and that we have successfully addressed with the new line,” said Vintzel. “While each model has some similar characteristics, we have created feature options that provide users with high performance units at varying degrees of mobility and costs.”
