PORTER-CABLE AND DELTA MACHINERY FOCUS ON WOODWORKER TRAINING
New Training Center and Mobile Vehicles Created to Educate Woodworkers
1/9/2006

Porter-Cable and Delta Machinery are looking towards the future of woodworking by focusing on educating and training woodworkers and their distributors. The well-known brands are recognized for their tools’ durability, quality and precision – all of which help woodworkers achieve their goals.

“Recognizing that woodworkers take pride in their creations and are always trying to master new techniques, Porter-Cable and Delta Machinery decided to create new training and education outlets for woodworkers,” Chuck Hardin, director of marketing for Porter-Cable and Delta Machinery, stated. “We recently built a woodworking training facility and created three branded mobile training vehicles.”

The woodworking training facility, featuring Porter-Cable and Delta Machinery branded products, opened on Friday, Dec. 16, 2005. Encompassing 5,000 square feet in Towson, Md., the facility is designed to train company employees and distributors.

“The training facility will enable our employees and distributors to gain in-depth knowledge of Porter-Cable and Delta Machinery tools which will ultimately benefit woodworking customers. We estimate that more than 400 employees and distributors will be trained in the new facility in 2006,” Hardin stated. “In addition, the new mobile training and event vehicles will help us educate distributors and woodworkers on the features and benefits of our tools, essential woodworking techniques, and equipment set-up and maintenance tips.

The branded mobile training and event vehicles are touring the country in conjunction with the 26 Woodworking Shows spanning across the United States. The vehicles also will execute 450 additional training events per year.
